THE CHILDREN’S VILLAGE
HHAO has taking numerous initiatives in an effort to empower the community. Amongst them is the organization’s dearest project to not solely build an adequate school with great standards, but our goal is to build a village where the most essential needs of each child and their family can be met. We envision a place that will provide the community access to things ranging from a water tower, sports area, a chapel to a medical clinic.

HHAO IN THE COMMUNITY…
HHAO + Community Involvements
Our work at Helping Hands Across the Ocean goes beyond encouraging growth through the sector of education. The organization works tirelessly to support our communities through Faith Enrichment, Community Organizing and Action.

“Veronique is the type of person who payed for countless of people’s hospital fees, who has facilitated their treatments’ follow ups, and made their surgery possible — and I’m referring to people that she has never met until this day! Working with Veronique was a blessing a tous égards as she had also payed for my child’s schooling when I had loss my primary job.”
— Michel O
HHAO + WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
Dream it.
“Veronique has sent many children to school, and took care of their entire scholastic year! Amongst these children is Francia, who is now a nurse in Haiti and there is another one who is now in Cuba studying medicine.”
— Former Helping Hands Across the Ocean’s employee
Build it.
“Long before Helping Hands Across the Ocean was officially founded, Veronique had been supported many people: she financially supported them with their education, businesses, through their sickness and so on.”
— Friends of the Michelot’s family
Grow it.
“Mrs. Michelot has payed rent for many people in Haiti which made it possible for those who otherwise would have been living on the street, to have a place to live.”
— Former Helping Hands Across the Ocean’s administrator

HHAO + WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“Veronique has touched people beyond the materials. Even if you did not have a child in school, have a business and etc, there are lots of people who are simply happy and thrilled just at the thought of her being around, because they know and have a reassurance that there will be life in some shape or form —where ever Veronique is there is LIFE!.”
— Former Helping Hands Across the Ocean’s employee
“There was a school in Bercy that was basically under a wooden tent, it got transformed into an actual well equipped building, ready for the children to be taught effectively. Mrs. Michelot had realized that instead of paying school for a number of kids, it would be more beneficial to build a school so that the entire community could benefit.”
— Program beneficiary
“Asides from ensuring that a school was built in the community of Bercy, Mrs. Michelot payed the teachers, the cooks, the janitors, provided all supplies for the school, hosted meetings with the parents to inform them of the importance of education.”
— Parent of a scholarship recipient
